How to clear your browser cache

Please be aware that with the release of our new software version, you may be required to clear your internet browser’s cache for maps to display properly. The instructions provided below will help to ensure that maps display in a timely fashion in your Windows PC.

Google Chrome

To clear the cache within Google Chrome:

  1. From the Title/Menu bar, select Customize and control Google Chrome (the wrench icon)
  2. From the menu, select Tools followed by Clear browsing data…
  3. From the Clear Browsing Data form, un-check (de-select) all items except Empty the cache. Empty the cache should be the only box selected.
  4. Click the Clear browsing data button.

FireFox

To clear the cache within Firefox:

  1. From the Title/Menu bar, select Tools
  2. From the Tools menu, select Clear Private Data
  3. From the Clear Private Data form, un-check (de-select) all items except Cache. Cache should be the only box selected.
  4. Click the Clear Private Data Now button.

Apple Safari

To clear the cache within Safari:

  1. From the Title/Menu bar, select Settings (the gear icon)
  2. From the menu, select Preferences…
  3. Click the Privacy tab.
  4. Click the Remove All Website Data… button.

Internet Explorer

To clear the cache within Internet Explorer:

In Internet Explorer 6:

  1. On the Internet Explorer 6 Tools menu, click Internet Options. The Internet Options box should open to the General tab.
  2. On the General Tab, in the Temporary Internet Files section, click the Delete Files button.
  3. Click OK or Yes, and then click OK again.

In Internet Explorer 7:

  1. On the Internet Explorer 7 Tools menu, click Internet Options. The Internet Options box should open to the General tab
  2. On the General tab, in the Browsing history section, click the Delete… button. This will bring up the Delete Browsing History Box.
  3. In the Temporary Internet Files section, click the Delete Files button.
  4. When prompted click Yes to delete all Temporary Internet Explorer files.
  5. Click Close and then click OK.

In Internet Explorer 8 and 9:

  1. 1. On the Internet Explorer Tools menu, click Internet Options. The Internet Options box should open to the General tab
  2. On the General tab, in the Browsing history section, click the Delete… button. This will bring up the Delete Browsing History Box.
  3. Un-check (de-select) all items except Temporary Internet Files. This should be the only box selected.
  4. Click Delete button. If prompted click Yes to delete all Temporary Internet Explorer files.
  5. Click OK.
